Mos Burger - Sunnybank Plaza

I would murder for a burger from Mos Burger - but only in Japan or Hong Kong.

Pity I can't say the same for the Sunnybank branch.

At least the store is clean, comfortable and decorated with lots of greenery, which makes you feel very relaxed.

There's not too many options apart from Burgers, but that's to be expected. Choose from chicken, seafood, pork, fish, and even Wagyu!!!!

Being an avid Wagyu lover, I ordered the Gourmet Wagyu Burger ($6.95) - after all, it's the Managers Recommendations, so it must be pretty gourmet, right? Well, not quite. The patty tasted decent but was a tad dry - though I still prefer it more than any other fast food burger outlets (mainly because it wasn't drenched in oil). According to the menu, I should be getting loads of onions and sauce. Unfortunately I could barely see or taste any :(. At least the tomato and lettuce was fresh and the bun was above average.

To spice things up, my Fellow Food Extinguisher ordered a Seafood Okonomi Rice Burger ($5.95). The rice bun was slightly disappointing as it wasn't grilled properly so there wasn't any crunch to it. And they don't hold their shape properly like the ones in Japan and HK so it fell apart pretty quickly. I quite enjoyed the flavours of the fillings though - the ample amounts of mayonnaise go very well with the bonito flakes.

We turned it into a meal by adding large chips and ice tea for an extra $4.50. The chips were soggy and oily and had no crunch to it at all. The tea was quite average, but still enjoyable.

My Fellow Food Extinguisher also ordered the Matcha Latte ($5.95). It has a strong matcha flavour but was way too sweet for me :(.

The Food Extinguisher wants some but the straw is too long.

Verdict
Burgers are okay but can't really compare to the Japanese and HK stores.

FREE BIRTHDAY TWEET: On the bright side, Mos Burger gives you a free Gourmet Wagyu Burger on your birthday :).

  1. I would feel however that the chickpea fritter and the grated beetroot would make this burger quite heavy in terms Food Trucks In Los Angeles
